E’ lui il vero pick-up.
Fanno ridere le imitazioni europee, da Mercedes a Fiat, fenomeni modaioli utili solo per sfigheggiare al bar con gli amici e far contento il concessionario che vi ha rifilato un prodotto immatricolabile solo per il lavoro.
Altro che bar ed happy-hour.
Poi davanti al primo tronco da mettere sul cassone…
Qui, a Dallas, le cose sono diverse.
Basti guardare quanta c’è ad aspettare il reveal del nuovo Chevy Silverado in occasione del Chevy Truck Legend, manifestazione di una delle associazioni che riunisce appassionati del marchio e del tipo di veicolo.
Gente vera, gente seria.
Gente che con il suo Chevy lavora, lo usa nel tempo libero, lo personalizza di meccanica e stile e lo accudisce come fosse il pupo di casa. Poi la birra se la fanno pure loro, con altro spirito.
Il nuovo Chevrolet Silverado sarà presentato nei prossimi giorni di Gennaio in occasione del salone di Detroit, giusto in occasione dei cento anni della prima consegna di uno Chevy Trucks ai clienti.
Non sono uno yankee a tutti i costi e diffido delle auto americane con qualche eccezione. Apprezzo di quella razza e cultura un certo pragmatismo e l’efficienza. Non voglio scendere in questioni di politica, mi limito all’automotive. Il pick-up, che da quelle parti chiamano truck o light truck è prima di tutto uno strumento di lavoro, così nelle info Chevy per il Centennial sono declamate unità motore, tipo di trazione, capacità di carico del cassone, tipo di cabina, peso rimorchiabile. Con pesi e dimensioni consone agli States. Motore, il più piccolo, è un V6 di 4,3 litri mentre la dotazione standard è il V8 di 5,3 litri, il 6.2 è disponibile solo con i vecchi modelli, con un consumo di 22 miglia per gallone, circa quaranta chilometri con 3,5 litri.
Essì proprio un’altra dimensione.
In compenso il peso al traino è di 9100 libbre, più di quattromila chili.
Prezzo d’accesso a 29mila dollari, poi si sale.
Ma tanto c’è la trazione integrale.
La versione Centennial è disponibile pure per il Colorado.
In Europa arrivano solo con importazioni ad hoc.
